Bookkeeper

Quality Engineer

Full Time
The quality engineer will work in our Taipei office and at partner locations, across several programs, assisting each core team throughout the duration of the program.

Early in each program the quality engineer shall participate in product hardware quality definition activities. This will include helping to define appropriate performance targets for environmental and reliability testing, helping to define the appropriate tests and test procedures, and reviewing pass/fail criteria. This will often involve fighting for our customers’ high standards, even when (or especially when) the targets are difficult to achieve.

As the programs progress, test sessions should be monitored on-site, and proposed solutions to failures reviewed. Later in the program this will usually include travel to factories and suppliers in order to evaluate and monitor quality improvements, manufacturing procedures, and final assembled product quality.

Some amount of mass production test definition should also be anticipated (factory outgoing quality checks, ongoing reliability sampling and testing, etc.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers
  • Experience with a wide variety of product types and differing requirements is strongly desired

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, manufacturing/industrial, Plastics) preferred
  • 6 years experience as a Quality Engineer for consumer electronics products (experience with mobile phones and tablets is particularly desirable)
  • Very experienced in reliability and environmental test processes
  • Knowledgeable in materials properties, including metals, plastics, glass, and composites
  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Familiar with consumer electronics product cycle from concept to manufacturing

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Full Time
Looking for a highly motivated senior mechanical engineering to join the product design group. You will be part of a cross-functional leadership team responsible for conceiving, designing and producing exciting new products.

You will co-work with an ODM team of Product Design to bring products to market. You will work closely with many different groups, including Thermal Architecture, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Packaging, Safety and EMC.

This position requires international travel (up to 20%).

Preferred Experience

  • Direct management of product development engineering teams
  • Prior experience in product design (preferably consumer electronic products)
  • Innovative thinking, high motivation and energy 3-D CAD skills helpful

Senior Tooling Engineer

Full Time
The job of the tooling engineer is to work across several programs, assisting each core team throughout the duration of the program.

In the early stages, the tooling engineer shall participate to the product design and architecture and help set the expectation and the processes for the production of the different mechanical parts.

During the tooling phase, the tooling engineer is expected to work directly with the tool manufacturer.

From the first shot of every part to the start of mass production, the tooling engineer will frequently visit the different suppliers to ensure the tool and processes are being tuned to reach the very high standard of quality Design SHIFT and its customers are expecting.

Preferred Experience

  • Six Sigma Process Improvement Experience/Certification desirable
  • Quotation evaluation during concepts stage and ECO requirement
  • Prior experience in tooling design (preferably consumer electronic products)
  • Innovative thinking, high motivation and energy
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers
  • Familiar with 3D software(or related tool) to review parts

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering (Mechanical, manufacturing/industrial, Plastics) preferred
  • 10 years (minimum) experience as a Tooling engineer or tool design engineer for injection mold and/or metal progressive die or transfer press stamp, forging tooling and MIM process
  • Expert in design and manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, stamping, casting, and machining
  • Capable to review 3D parts then provide DFM report in terms of tooling design and mass production
  • Experience in developing plastic processing parameters
  • Knowledge of plastic materials and design for manufacturing in terms of geometry and cosmetic quality
  • Strong material and metallurgical knowledge of metals, especially aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
  • Advise supplier plants on maintaining correct controls on the processes
  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Familiar with consumer electronics product cycle from concept to manufacturing
